Dr Yasmin Bador

I am an Educational Psychologist and Integrative Counsellor. As an Educational Psychologist, I am registered with the UK Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a psychologist. I have practised as a counsellor since 2012 and am an accredited member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) .

My work in educational psychology involves consultation and assessment of children in educational settings, delivering training and supporting school staff. I have experience assessing and supporting children and young people with a range of needs, such as autism, ADHD, dyslexia and other learning needs. My doctoral research was on mathematics self-efficacy, and I have a special interest in intercultural issues.

I have expertise in counselling adults and adolescents with a variety of issues, including anxiety, self-esteem issues, domestic violence, rape and sexual abuse, family and relationship issues, and culturally-related difficulties. I have counselled adult clients at my private practice and served as a counsellor for adults and young people for various charities. Additionally, I have worked as a school counsellor in the United Kingdom and for an international residential school in Malaysia. I am also registered as a Therapeutic Play Practitioner with Play Therapy UK and was previously a play therapist for a Local Authority.

I have over ten years of experience in various roles in the voluntary sector, which includes working with Muslim and Asian women across a variety of projects and organisations and in community development within the voluntary and faith sector. This includes being a Trustee and doing grant applications. Previously, I worked for over 12 years in IT as a real-time software engineer with various multinationals in the telecoms industry and as a freelance contractor.
